In the year 1497 Erik was born in a little village outside of Wexiö. His father Thomas was a descendent of the Vikings that ruled the villages of Småland. Erik was born with blond hair that he later would have in a braid and a strong body.
From a young age Erik was trained to fight like a Viking but he often found himself sneaking of into the forests where he climbed the trees and learned how to survive with nothing but a knife.
The rootles fighting style of the Viking and the swift style he obtained was a great mix. Every time the village was attacked by the Danish Erik always had a part in their defeat.
In the church Erik studied how to read and write Swedish and speak English. He studied hard and at the age of 16 he could write and read Swedish fluently and with some difficulty he could understand and speak English.
One day when Erik had travelled into Wexiö to study a templar came to his village. He was a friendly man. The templar named Gustav only spoke English making it hard for the village to understand him.
When Erik came back later that night he found his father talking to the Gustav. Thomas introduced them to one another. Since Erik knew English he was the only one in the village who could properly talk to Gustav.
Over a couple of weeks Erik and Gustav became great friends. A peculiar thing Erik found about Gustav was that he never wore his templar armour but always had his hand on his sword.
“It’s because the Swedish weather is not armour friendly”
Erik understood that that was a lie but he thought nothing of it. If Gustav had a good reason to not wear his armour that was good enough for Erik.
Erik and Gustav often trained in the fencing art and more than often Erik was defeated. His training was not enough.
Three years went and came and Gustav stayed in the village working like everyone ells and learning Swedish. Erik often asked why he stayed and Gustav explained that he was retired from the order.
Late August 1516 a cold morning Erik woke up from his sleep hearing a man scream out in pain. He quickly grabbed his sword and thought to himself.
Leaving his house he saw a terrible sight. His friend Gustav had been struck down by another templar. Erik dropped his sword and ran to Gustav’s side. He gently placed his head in his lap.
“Ditt as! Vad har du gjort!?” He screamed at the templar.
“He betrayed our order. He had to die.”
The templar turned around and walked away. Erik sat with his dying friend in his lap. Gustav tried to talk.
“My friend *cough* Do not feel sorry for me. This has been put of for too long. It was meant for me to die this day. Please take this.”
Gustav holds up his sword and places it on his chest.
“Use it to kill all the templars. Thank you for being my friend”
And with those last words Gustav took his last breath and died.
One week later Erik headed out on his journey. In the sheet of the sword Erik had found a note describing the assassin’s guild in Rome in Italy and the reason for the death of Gustav. He once saved an assassin who was sent out to kill a high graded templar. The assassin promised him protection but Gustav refused saying that she would owe him a favour.
Erik travelled for two years until he reached Rome. On his journey he learned how to fight with two swords though he will most likely only use one at a time.
The Viking sword he got from his father when he was born and the sword from Gustav wish is his primary sword.
For three weeks he searched for the Assassin’s guild. He could not find it and he did not feel that it was something you ask a person.
He accidentally bumped into a woman on the street. A few steps later he fell asleep. He then woke up in a bedroom wearing a with assassin’s trainee uniform.
“You have the sword of Gustav. Are you a friend of his or are you just a measly thief that I should kill right now.” A voice said from the shadows.
Erik quickly explained what happened to Gustav after he was done he noticed that a woman sat next to him on the bed.
“So he is dead?” A single tear gently left the woman’s eye. “Then as his last wish I will train you. This will be my last mission.“
The woman, named Claudia, trained Erik in the arts of an assassin, their creed and the weapons they use. One day she was gone and just a white dove feather on her bed.
Erik’s training was now done and he was ready for his first mission as a novice.
